How To Brew Beer - And Save Big Bucks!
With the rising costs of milk, gasoline, beer – and other essentials – more and more of us are wanting to know how to brew beer ourselves. In a recent article, the North Andover, MA Eagle Tribune calls grains “the new gold,” reporting that the malts used to brew many beers have gone up 50 to 100% in cost.
While this means homebrewers are now paying more for some of their ingredients, it has driven the cost of commercially produced beer even higher. The good news for those who brew their own beer – from beginners to seasoned pros – is that it can still be done for a fraction of what you’d normally pay in local stores.
What’s more, with a little practice, you could soon be turning out a brew that’s as good as – or better than – most mass-produced beers. And who knows? If you get really good at it, your homebrew concoctions could soon rival some of the best microbrews available.
You’re not likely to turn out a winner on your first try, but making beer that’s quite drinkable is easier than you might think. With each successive batch, a persistent homebrewer will learn how to adjust and modify the process to ultimately produce a beer that he and his buddies find more than enjoyable.
